About Channy, our founder
Channy was born in Cambodia and came to the USA as a refugee in 1979. She received her formal training in mathematics and computer science from the University of Nebraska and Santa Clara University. She is author of “Short-Hair Detention”, memoir of a thirteen year old girl surviving the Cambodian genocide.
Growing up in America, Channy developed a passion for cooking all types of food. She treasures the traditional Cambodian recipes that she learned from her mother for sharing with friends and family. Channy found herself naturally carry on this tradition and greatly appreciates the gift from her mother: The Joy of Sharing Food.
"When I send food to my children who left for college, I am sending them my love. When I share Cambodian foods with my friends, I am sharing our culture. It is exciting to share Cambodian food to those who are willing to try the first time, opening up a new relationships with food and culture.
I spent the past 7 years nurturing and building this sharing culture with my company. I want to share to the world our culture through our unique cambodian spices, pastes, and sauces, and walk people through how to make traditional and fusion Cambodian dishes. My company spawns this labor of love and sharing."
